FEDERAL APPROVAL MAKES UNICAN SECURITY SYSTEMS’ ACQUISITION OF THE MAS-HAMILTON GROUP OFFICIAL
MONTREAL
Unican Security Systems Ltd. announces that it has received Federal Trade Commission (FTC) approval to complete its acquisition of the Mas-Hamilton Group Inc., based in Lexington, Ky. The transaction was originally announced Feb. 17, 2000. Mas-Hamilton is a worldwide developer and manufacturer of self-powered, high security electronic safe locks for government and commercial applications utilizing self-contained, microprocessor-based PowerStar(tm) technology. The company is also the sole supplier of self-powered locks with audit capability for automatic teller machines.
Unican Security Systems, with sales in fiscal 1999 surpassing $475 million (Canadian), is a global supplier of access control products for the hospitality and commercial sectors, and mechanical and electronic security products for the safe and vault industry.
