Montreal, Quebec-based Feeling Software has partnered with Genetec to provide the iGuard mobile surveillance application. The software application takes a security system’s current CCTV hardware and software infrastructure and makes it remotely accessible to all security personnel through iPod Touch and iPhone devices.
iGuard accesses the video feeds through Wi-Fi or a 3G cellular internet connection (on the iPhone). The iGuard system is designed for compatibility with Genetec’s Omnicast IP Video Surveillance System. With the touch of a finger, a security officer can rapidly scan through all camera locations, select a specific live camera feed, and move and zoom the camera in real time to capture the desired image, according to the company. Using a slider control, iGuard also makes it simple to return back in time and watch recorded footage of any specific moment, on any camera.
