Fiber Transceiver Supports 48 Bidirectional Channels, Data, More

Published: August 31, 2006

The 94887SL Series fiber-optic transceiver line by American Fibertek of Somerset, N.J., is designed to allow architects to design high performance, multifaceted transmission systems integrating video, data and communications over the same singlemode optical fiber connection. The 94887SL will transmit 10-bit digitized video up to 48 channels with a combination of Eethernet, MPD (multiprotocol data) and audio with bidirectional capability.

The 94887SL series is suited for large surveillance systems with many cameras in large campus environments with multiple buildings. The line is also designed for wide area networks (WANs) that span large geographic areas. The system provides 48-channel input and output of 10-bit digitized video with a bidirectional Ethernet channel, bidirectional multiprotocol data channel, and a bidirectional audio channel on one singlemode optical fiber.
