Fiore to Succeed Doyle as CSAA Executive Vice President

Industry veteran Lou Fiore will succeed Steve Doyle as executive vice president of CSAA on an interim basis.

VIENNA, Va. – The Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) has selected Lou Fiore to fill the position of executive vice president on an interim basis, following the retirement of Steve Doyle.

Doyle, who announced his departure in July, served in the position for 22 years. Fiore, who is an inductee to the SSI Industry Hall of Fame, will begin his new post Oct. 1. Fiore is expected to serve in the position through the end of the year while the CSAA executive committee searches for a permanent replacement.

“I look forward to working with CSAA staff, our members, our public sector partners and sister associations. I hope to make a beneficial impact during my stay,” Fiore tells SSI. “In the immediate future, I will be working to support CSAA’s immediate goals set out by our executive board at this year’s Long Range Planning meeting and in subsequent meetings. These include advancing the ASAP-to-PSAP initiative, addressing challenges such as FirstNet developments, and of course, supporting our president, Jay Hauhn, in presenting a successful annual meeting next month in Bermuda.”

Fiore is past president of CSAA (1997-1999). He currently serves as chair of the Alarm Industry Communications Committee (AICC), CSAA Standards Committee, and the Security Industry Association (SIA) Security Industry Standards Council (SISC).

Among his industry involvement, Fiore is a long-time member of the Supervising Station Committee of NFPA 72, a member of NFPA’s Premises Security Committee (NFPA 730 & 731), a member of NFPA’s Standard for the Installation of Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detection and Warning Equipment (NFPA 720), a member of the NFPA 72 Technical Correlating Committee, and has been a member of various UL Standards Technical Panels.

For the last 20 years he has worked in his own consulting practice, L.T. Fiore Inc.
His professional career also includes posts at CBS Laboratories, manager of product development at ADT Security Systems, president and co-founder of Cardinal Technologies, vice president and general manager of the security products division of Repco Inc., and vice president of engineering and purchasing for National Guardian Corp.

Along with his 2010 induction into the SSI Industry Hall of Fame, Fiore was honored in 1992 with SIA’s George Lippert Memorial Award and the CSAA Stanley C. Lott Award in 2005. In 1999, he was appointed by President Clinton to serve on the “America Burning Revsited” panel.

“The CSAA executive committee and I are thrilled that Lou has agreed to lead CSAA during this period of transition,” says CSAA President Jay Hauhn. “Lou’s distinctive industry accomplishments uniquely qualify him for the position. I look forward to the next several months with confidence, knowing that the association is in good hands.”
