Fire Alarm Training Course Now Available Online

SILVER SPRING, Md.
Published: March 28, 2005

Expanding upon its October launch of its first online
course, the National Training School (NTS) is keeping fire
alarm technicians and designers in mind for its second
course offering over the Internet. The NTS, the training
arm of the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association
(NBFAA), will now offer its “Fire Alarm Installation
Methods (FAIM)” course on the Web.

Instead of attending a two-day, 16-hour course in a
designated classroom, technicians will now be able to take
the course from a computer either at work or home.

The NTS launched its online offerings in HREF=t_ci_newsView.cfm?nid=1934>October with the Web
version of its Alarm Technician (Level 1) course
.

Those who take the FAIM course will learn how to install,
service and maintain fire alarm systems. There will also be
preparation for the NICET Level 1 and 2 exams. FAIM is
based on the 2002 edition of the National Fire Protection
Association’s NFPA 72 and NFPA 70 guidelines.
