Fire-Lite Alarms to Host 2014 Fire Alarm Training Program
NORTHFORD, Conn — Fire-Lite Alarms by Honeywell plans to launch a 2014 training program, which will offer more courses than in previous years and will cover a wide range of topics from basic fire alarm systems to sophisticated applications design and programming.
NICET-certified instructors will lead the one-day Fire-Lite Systems courses and two-day Software Applications courses. Available in 62 U.S. cities, the hands-on courses will offer attendees the opportunity to earn continuing education units (CEUs).
The company will also offer a training certificate renewal program for experienced fire alarm installers that have attended a Fire-Lite Systems course within the past three years. Those successfully passing the online program will receive 0.7 CEUs and will become eligible to take a written final exam to earn a new training certificate, which is valid for three years.
For installers that contend with time and travel constraints, Fire Lite has launched a series of online trainings that provide self-paced instruction on popular topics not covered in the instructor-led courses. Additionally, the fire/life-safety products manufacturer has produced a series of short, tech-tip videos, titled Lite-Tips, which can be searched on both YouTube and FireLite.com. The videos cover a myriad of common topics, including how to check battery voltage, align a beam detector, synchronize notification appliance circuits (NACs), and more.
