The FireSwitch power distribution modules by Altronix of Brooklyn, N.Y., are designed to distribute power in access control locking systems. The new power supply line interfaces fire alarm control panels (FACPs) to electric locking devices, enabling rapid egress when fire is detected and the fire alarm system goes into alarm.
The modules convert a single AC or DC input into multiple fused outputs that can then be used to power an assortment of access-related devices. Release can be achieved by an input trigger from an FACP. FireSwitch modules are available in four-, eight- and 16-channel models.
