FutureSmart Networks has reached an agreement with Steve Young, former NFL quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, to jointly promote the advancement of home networking technology.

Young will appear in a FutureSmart-sponsored educational video for public television, explaining home network benefits, such as shared Internet access, home entertainment and security. Young will also make personal appearances at FutureSmart events to promote home networking. The first appearance will be an autograph-signing session in the FutureSmart exhibit Booth #1615 at the PCBC(r) 2001 trade show on July 26 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

“Home networking is all about making digital technology really convenient and useful for individuals and families,” says Young, who selected a FutureSmart Home Network for his new family residence under construction in Park City, Utah. “I chose to work with FutureSmart because their system offered the best solution to integrate Internet, telephone, entertainment, security, and home automation into an affordable, easy-to-use package.”

Jacqueline Soechtig, FutureSmart CEO, adds, “We are pleased to work with Steve Young in publicizing what is now available to homeowners today in the way of modern home networking systems. Home networks have gone beyond the stage of being toys for the technical elite, to the point where a majority of new homebuyers consider them to be an essential feature.” FutureSmart Networks is a provider of digital communications and networking systems for homes, condominiums and apartments.
