Former DHS Secretary Takes Seat on Cernium Board of Directors
RESTON, Va.
Cernium Corp., a developer of video analytics-enabled products, has named former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge to the company’s board of directors to advise on growth and diversification initiatives.
In addition to serving as Pennsylvania’s governor from 1995 to 2001, Ridge was the nation’s first secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. SECURITY SALES & INTEGRATION featured an exclusive in-depth interview with Ridge in 2005, which can be read by clicking here. His Beltway resume also includes a six-term member of Congress.
“Governor Ridge brings tremendous domestic and international business experience to Cernium’s board of directors,” Cernium President and CEO Craig Chambers tells SSI. “His knowledge of significant infrastructure programs and their unique security requirements will help shape both current business development initiatives as well as future product development efforts.”
Following 9/11, Ridge was appointed to lead the new federal department to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to strengthen the protections against terrorist threats.
Ridge retired from the public sector in 2005, and currently serves as president and CEO of Ridge Global LLC, a D.C.-based strategic and operational consulting firm.
“Governor Ridge provides an unparalleled understanding of security requirements that will help Cernium deliver singular products that achieve mission-critical objectives,” says Chambers. “He will also help accelerate Cernium’s international footprint as video surveillance installations outside the US increasingly add analytics technology as an indispensable element of the total solution.”
