SILVER SPRING, Md. — Frank De Fina, former senior director of strategic sales, at Hikvision USA, will receive the 2015 George R. Lippert Memorial Award posthumously, as was announced Thursday by the Security Industry Association. The announcement comes less than two months after De Fina’s unexpected death in July.
De Fina was a unanimous choice by the SIA Lippert Award Committee, which is made up of previous Lippert Award recipients.
“Frank De Fina was a giant in life and in the security industry,” SIA CEO Don Erickson said. “He was a very kind man whose knowledge, experience and wit made extraordinary contributions to our community. It is with great respect that we present the Lippert Award to him. He is sorely missed, and we will take this occasion to celebrate his life’s work at SIA Honors Night.”

At the time of his death, De Fina was serving on the SIA Board of Directors. He spent nearly 30 years in the security industry, serving in various leaderships roles with Hikvision USA, SightLogix, Samsung Techwin America and Panasonic Systems Solutions Company.
De Fina’s family will accept the award for him on Nov. 18 at the SIA Honors Night gala at The Current at Chelsea Piers in New York.
