G4S Monitoring and Data Center, located near Boston, has earned a UL-827 certification for central station alarm service from Underwriters Laboratories.

The data center met strict guidelines for the certification in the areas of construction, operation, staffing and protection services. Fewer than 25 percent of monitoring facilities have been granted UL approval under section UL-827, according to G4S.

“UL-827 certification provides our customers a sense of security,” says Jerry Cordasco, the center’s vice president of operations. “They recognize that [the] G4S Monitoring and Data Center has built a superb facility with the sole purpose to maintain their security needs.”

The center provides remotely monitored video that utilizes traditional video and content analysis technology. The center also has the capacity to provide monitoring of intrusion alarms, scheduled and ad hoc video guard tours, video and audio escort to employees, lobby management, remote monitoring and control of gates and doors. A Web portal is provided to allow access to reports and recorded video clips.
