The Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) has awarded its CSAA Five Diamond certification to the G4S Monitoring and Data Center Inc., after operators demonstrated proficiency in central station communications.

G4S operators completed the CSAA’s central station online operator training course that teaches effective communication with central station customers in law enforcement, fire and emergency services communications centers.

This critical area of communications is “the life-saving link between the residential or business properties and the law enforcement, fire and emergency services in local areas,” according to the company.

In order to achieve the certification, G4S operators had to demonstrate their proficiency in alarm verification and false alarm reduction. They also had to show adequate communications with public service answering points, such as the 911 dispatch centers; knowledge of electronic communications equipment, including radio; an understanding of the codes and standards of Underwriters Laboratories (UL), Factory Mutual (FM) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
