G4S Wackenhut’s Expanded Offerings to Have Shorter Name

As it makes its move to reflect a new company vision of providing comprehensive security solutions, G4S Wackenhut has changed its name to G4S, the company announced. Through a series of acquisitions, G4S will continue to evolve its core competencies from its Wackenhut roots to deliver integrated security solutions for greater performance and efficiency.

“Our transformation from G4S Wackenhut to G4S is not something that happened overnight,” says Drew Levine, president, G4S Secure Solutions. “Now with the global resources of G4S, we can deliver a wider range of services — including security consulting, design and engineering; compliance and risk management; facilities management and remote video monitoring — for truly integrated security solutions.”

The company has pursued numerous acquisitions to accelerate its vision to deliver integrated manpower and technology security solutions. They include: Nuclear Security Services Corp. (NSSC), which offers risk management, design and engineering services for intrusion detection, access control and video surveillance systems specifically for the nuclear power and other regulated industries; Touchcom Inc., a developer of software for visitor management, workflow management, elevator management and facility concierge services; Adesta, a systems integrator that designs and installs sophisticated video surveillance, perimeter protection and related security systems; and AMAG Technology, which offers access control, visitor management, smart card and related software-driven applications.

“G4S is in a unique position to provide existing and new customers a comprehensive security solution completely integrating both manpower and technology that is customized to meet a customer’s specific needs,” adds Levine.
