A Northern Ireland security company running out of money might not resonate with Americans. But mention that it’s the company that provides security on the set of Game of Thrones and ears start to perk up.

Select Management and Security is facing cash flow problems, making the decision to cease trading, according to the Belfast Telegraph. The company has worked on several series of Game of Thrones, the popular HBO series.

The company’s 300 staff and its security contracts are being transferred to other companies.

“This has been my whole life for most of the past 10 years,” said Andrew McQuillan, managing director of Select Management and Security. “I’m the sole director and I’ve been left with nothing. I’m literally broke and it’s very hard to get my head around it. I don’t know what to do next.”

McQuillan added the company had buik and volume, but “the cash flow problem became too series and we had no option.”
