GE Interlogix Acquires CCTV Developer

Corvallis, Ore.

GE has bolstered its CCTV presence after acquiring Kampro
Technology Inc. and will add it to its GE Interlogix
unit. Kampro is a developer of image sensing technologies
and a manufacturer of CCTV camera systems.

Among Kampro’s specialties
are products that display clear images in very dark and
very bright conditions.

“Kampro … is a good fit for GE’s history of innovation and
product diversity within the security and CCTV markets,”
says Brian Poggi, president of GE Interlogix’s Video
Systems unit. “Kampro was an easy choice, and both
companies are already flourishing from the exchange of
ideas, technologies and our customers should be very
excited for what awaits them.”

The most immediate application of the Taiwan-based
company’s assets will be an improvement of GE Interlogix’s
pan-tilt-zoom surveillance cameras. “We are very pleased to
become part of the GE family and we’re looking forward to
great ideas that we can create together,” says Lanfer Yang,
President of Kampro. “We also value our OEM customer
relationships and we plan to build upon those relationships
as part of GE.”
