GE Security Makes a Change at the Top

BRADENTON, Fla.

GE Security has announced Dean Seavers will be handed the reigns of the company as president and CEO, succeeding Louis Parker effective Sept. 1. Parker will assume a new position, leading strategic initiatives reporting to Lloyd Trotter, GE vice chairman and president and CEO of GE Industrial.

Seavers arrives at GE Security from his most recent post as president of SimplexGrinnell, a subsidiary of Tyco Int’l, where he was responsible for defining the strategy, goals and objectives to drive growth and profitability.

Seavers led a team of more than 12,000 employees providing fire detectionand alarm, fire sprinkler, fire suppression, and integrated systems and services.

Seavers joined Tyco in 1999 as the Florida ADT regional vice president of operations. In 2001, he was promoted to the vice president for the Southeast U.S. region, which became a top-performing ADT territory under Seavers. Prior to joining Tyco, Seavers held key operational roles with Ford Motor Co. and PepsiCo.
