GE Security Partners With Sun Microsystems on Integrated Access Control
BRADENTON, Fla.
GE Security has arranged an OEM partnership with Sun Microsystems to help the manufacturer create products that converge computer network security with building access control. GE says the solution will be aimed at large corporations and government entities seeking to deploy a single smart-card security solution on a global scale that complies with regulatory requirements.
The Sun Java System Identity Management Suite will be integrated into GE’s convergence system that employs only one server and operating system. This would allow employees to access their building and computer using the same smart card.
