GE Security Will Discontinue Some Older, Less Popular Cameras

GE Security announced in a Nov. 16 E-mail to customers that it will be phasing out some of the company’s aging and less popular camera products and recommending what it says are improved and cost-effective replacements. These changes will primarily affect GE’s older traditional and discreet cameras. The affected camera products will be discontinued on Feb. 15.

GE is also planning some changes to part numbers that will be phased in during the first part of 2006. According to the company, these changes will give customers a more logical scheme for ordering and make internal controls easier. To ease this transition, GE will be using both old and new part numbers for several months. Customer service personnel will be able to help customers with questions on camera orders.
