GE Wins Order From TSA for Airport Systems

NEWARK, Calif.

GE’s Homeland Protection business, a division of GE Infrastructure, Security, recently announced the purchase of 43 CTX 9000 DSi explosives detection system (EDS) machines by the United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The delivery order is valued at over $50 million.

To date, GE has already provided more than 800 EDS machines at airports throughout the nation.

Recent contracts GE has inked with the TSA include EntryScan 3 walk-though explosives detection portals valued at $1.5 million and a systems service and maintenance contract valued at approximately $36 million through Sept. 30. The maintenance contract also includes four one-year options.
