Gentex Says Revenues From Fire Alarm Sales Up
ZEELAND, Mich.
Gentex Corp.’s Fire Protection Products Group revenues decreased three percent to $5.8 million in the second quarter of 2004 ended June 30, the company reported. Fire protection revenues from the first six months of the year, however, have increased two percent to total $11.4 million.
Overall revenues for the company have increased from last year, however. Up 11 percent from the same quarter last year’s $116.9 million, 2004 second quarter revenue topped at $129.6 million. Second quarter net income increased from $26.1 million last year to $29 million, also an 11-percent increase.
For the first six months of 2004, Gentex, founded in 1974, reported a net income of $58.8 million, or 75 cents per share, on revenues of $259 million. During the same time period last year, the company reported $52 million in net income, or 68 cents per share, on revenues of $232.2 million.
