SAN FRANCISCO — Google is throwing its hat into the home automation game. The company has released Google Home, a voice-activated device that will rival Amazon Echo.
Google Home will respond to voice commands such as answering questions and controlling some smart home devices. The New York Times reported the news on Tuesday.
The device plugs into the wall and can be heard from across the room. According to The Verge, Google Home will at least be able to control thermostats and lights.
