Government Urged to Fund Home Security for Judges

WASHINGTON

Federal Judge Joan Lefkow, whose mother and husband were killed by a defendant who had sat before her in court, has asked a Senate committee to step up protection of judges by funding home security measures. According to CNN, Congress has passed a $12 million bill to strengthen the Marshals Service that already provides some protection for judges.

Lefkow believes that initiative should be taken to fund increased home security for federal judges and that the federal government should fund any effort.
