SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Board of Supervisors approved a city ordinance requiring all firearm dealers in the city to install surveillance equipment to record all gun sales, KRON 4 reports.
The video could be used in subsequent criminal investigations in San Francisco, a city known for being strict on firearms.

Additionally, vendors will have to submit weekly reports of ammunition sales to police as a result of the ordinance. Included in the reports will be the type and amount of ammunition sold, as well as identification information of the buyer.
The proposal passed unanimously.
San Francisco’s lone gun shop, High Bridge Arms, announced in September that it would be closing for good as a result of new requirements. The store has been open since 1952.
