Hackett Security Offers High-Speed, IP-Based Internet Monitoring

Hackett Security has launched a new high-speed central station monitoring system through which end users can use their PC or computer network as part of the process. According to Hackett, this new technology negates the need for a land-based telephone line while reducing signal transmission time by 80 percent.

“Many customers, especially younger adults, are installing high-speed Internet access in their homes but not traditional phone lines,” says Mike Hackett, president of Hackett Security. “Instead they use their cell phone or computer phone to make calls. This system provides the utmost of security without the costs of a dedicated land line.”

Hackett’s system, which uses the Sur-Gard System II, makes use of the Internet to transmit signals from an end user’s protected premises to Hackett’s central station. According to Hackett, the system makes use of the client’s cable modem, DSL or some other high-speed connection.

Hackett Security’s high-speed monitoring will accommodate both residential and commercial concerns.

“Businesses like to know when a door is opened and by whom,” says Hackett. “The new system, combined with our state-of-the-art alarm management software, allows us to get this information to them quickly via E-mail in a customer-friendly format rather than by slower methods.”
