Harford County Public Schools Installs 2,000 Security Cameras Throughout District

More than 2,000 video surveillance cameras are monitoring 54 schools and other facilities in the Harford County Public Schools district.

HARFORD COUNTY, Md. – Harford County Public Schools has installed more than 2,000 security cameras to monitor its 54 schools and other facilities.

The school board approved of a $205,000 one-year agreement that allows Skyline Technology Solutions of Glen Burnie, Md., to maintain, service and provide equipment for HCPS video surveillance systems, The Baltimore Sun reports.

As part of the agreement, Skyline will provide software updates and maintenance, site map updates and system checks for the 2,000-plus cameras. Additionally, the firm will provide additional cameras and equipment at a discount,

Older cameras will be replaced with newer hardware as needed, according to the school board.
