HONOLULU — Former customers of Hi Alarm, an electronic security company based here that abruptly shut down without informing consumers, are wondering what to do with their installed systems and monthly payments.
According to a report from KHON2, a former Hi Alarm employee said the he and all his coworkers were laid off in February. Meanwhile, Monitronics, which was subcontracted to monitor Hi Alarm’s customers, sent letters to clients informing them that the alarm company is no longer in business.
Dallas-based Monitronics has offered to take over some of the services that Hi Alarm, which was in business for two years, recently relinquished.
