Hikvision Provides Round-the-Clock Video Surveillance for Sunset Plaza Hotel

The hotel installed over 20 Hikvision cameras throughout the hotel to monitor the premises at all times.

INDUSTRY, Calif. — Hikvision USA has partnered with the Sunset Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles to provide a security solution for round-the-clock video surveillance.

Located on the Sunset Strip, Hikvision said the hotel had a need for versatile, user-friendly cameras and recorders that allowed their staff to keep an eye on the premises at all times.

From the company’s press release:

The hotel had outgrown their legacy analog system and was hoping to upgrade to cameras that provided broad coverage and high-quality images in a variety of interior and exterior environments. It was also important that the interface for the security system was easy for employees to learn.

Brenda Elias, operations manager for the Sunset Plaza, turned to Constantin Paul Bunea, founder and CEO of Darkcad Tec, to help solve their surveillance needs. Bunea, who has served as the hotel’s systems integrator for 10 years, made the decision to go with Hikvision.

“I selected Hikvision cameras because the quality is very high, third party integration is easy and the company provides excellent technical support,” Bunea said.

More than 20 Hikvision IP cameras were installed throughout the hotel. The DS-2CD2332-I turret, with Hikvision’s EXIR infrared technology, is being used in the parking garage to help capture images of license plates. A 3-megapixel fisheye camera, the DS-2CD6332FWD-I, is said to allow for a 360° view of the main entrance of the hotel. The DS-2CD2132F-I dome and other security cameras are being used at other hotel entrances, the company said.

“The versatility and scalability of Hikvision products make them well-suited for a wide range of vertical markets,” said Jeffrey He, president of Hikvision USA and Hikvision Canada. “We are pleased to serve our customers in the hospitality industry as they seek to provide safe and enjoyable experiences for their guests.”
