Residential integrator Home Technologies Inc. says it is closing its electrical services and will focus solely on low-voltage installations and services. Home Technologies will complete its existing electrical contracts while phasing out its electrical division.

“The residential electrical business has become commoditized and can be performed by many companies large and small,” says Home Technologies CEO and Chairman of the Board Lee Travis “Our low-voltage business is very much a specialty niche business and is proving itself to be scalable to other markets.”

Home Technologies will provide retraining in low voltage for some of its electrical technicians, while offering placement assistance for employees that are not rehired.
