Home Security Video Leads to Armed Burglars’ Arrests

Michigan State Police were able to arrest two armed home intruders thanks to the homeowner's video surveillance system.

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. – A home surveillance system helped police arrest two armed intruders.

In the security video, two armed men are seen in a woman’s bedroom, stealing items from the home.

Michigan State Police released security footage of the July 13 incident, in an effort to help catch the thieves. Officers said tips began rolling in after the video was shown in media reports, Fox 17 reports.

Police arrested and charged Bobby Ritter, 38, and Brock Campbell, 25, with first-degree home invasion, conspiracy to commit home invasion, attempted safe breaking, and multiple weapons charges.

Both men are being held on $800,000 bonds.

The majority of the stolen items from the home have been recovered.
