Melville, N.Y.-based Honeywell’s 5800PIR-OD wireless outdoor motion detector is designed for outdoor sensing applications in difficult-to-wire locations. The detector avoids the costs and time required for trenching and excavating, according to the company.
The battery-operated sensor features a range adjustable to 40 inches, immunity to both large and small animals, and two PIR sensors that must both be tripped in order to declare an alarm. The sensor is weatherproof and features a temperature range of -4º F to 122º F (-20º C to 50º C).
