Honeywell Acquires Gamewell Co.; Product Line Is No. 5 Under Fire Systems Group

Honeywell Int’l has acquired the assets of Ashland, Mass.-based The Gamewell Co., a maker of commercial fire control panels and emergency life-safety systems and known in North America for its distinctive red fire alarm street boxes. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“Gamewell provides a strategic fit with our existing portfolio as the world leader in fire controls and fire detection technology,” says Mark Levy, president of Honeywell’s Fire Solutions Group. “The Gamewell channel of distribution and products will enable the fire group to continue its global growth and focus through its superior customer service.”

Gamewell will become Honeywell’s fifth product line under its Fire Systems Group, a division of Honeywell’s Automation and Control Solutions unit. Other lines in the group include Fire-Lite Alarms, Fire Control Instruments, NOTIFIER, and Silent Knight.
