Honeywell announces that its Home and Building Control business has been awarded $18.1 million in Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPC) by the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center in Huntsville, Ala. The pact calls for Honeywell to design and install high-efficiency boiler and building control systems for 116 buildings at the Fort Dix U.S. Army Reserve Installation near Wrightstown, N.J. The new contracts are in addition to a $1.9 million lighting retrofit contract Honeywell implemented at Fort Dix in 1998. In addition, the arrangement marks the largest such contracts since the Huntsville Center named Honeywell as the Army Reserve Command’s Energy Services company for all Army Reserve bases nationwide in November 1997.
“The work we are carrying out for the U.S. Army Reserve will provide significant results through improvements that increase the overall quality of life, help the command comply with federal energy-reduction mandates and result in long-term savings for the government and American taxpayers as well,” says Kevin Gilligan, president of Honeywell’s Home and Building Control business.
