Honeywell’s third-quarter earnings were up eight percent compared to the year before, boosted by a 20-percent increase in net profit for the quarter by the division which includes Honeywell’s security and fire products. Honeywell had a net income of $372 million for the three months that ended on Sept. 30, compared to $344 million for the same period a year ago.
Sales for Automation and Control Solutions (ACS) – which includes Honeywell Security and the fire product divisions like Gamewell and NOTIFIER – had a six-percent increase in third quarter sales, which would have been closer to eight percent if the May 3 sale of Honeywell Security Monitoring wasn’t included.
The ACS segment had a net third-quarter profit of $235 million, compared to $208 million in 2003.
