Honeywell Provides Security for ‘Extreme Makeover’ Family

LOUISVILLE, Ky.

Honeywell Security has provided its security system products to the Nick family of Alma, Ark., as part of ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” television show. To help protect the Nicks’ new dream home, Honeywell provided an Optiflex video surveillance system, a Vista control panel, an Aurora PIR motion detector and smoke detectors, as well as Genesis series structured cabling that will enable the family’s electronics and appliances to be connected for total home networking.

The program chose the Nick family because their time and effort in the past 10 years has been spent trying to find their daughter Morgan, who disappeared while catching fireflies at a ballpark. In that time, her mother Colleen Nick created a foundation in her daughter’s honor that has helped return more than 100 abducted children to their families, and works with the police to provide education to parents designed to prevent abductions.

Rich Simonetti, vice president of sales for Honeywell Security said in a statement that his company was proud to be part of the show, and that the Nick family was “deserving of a home where they don’t have to worry about security or protection.”
