Honeywell Security Joins Ranks of PPVAR Partners
HENDERSON, Nev. — Honeywell Security has joined the Partnership for Priority Video Alarm Response (PPVAR) as a platinum associate member.
“We are pleased to have Honeywell join us to promote the value of verified alarms and priority response,” says PPVAR President Don Young, who is also CIO at Protection 1. “Honeywell will help us in our efforts to strengthen our partnerships with law enforcement using monitored video alarms as a mainstream solution.”
Established in 2012, PPVAR includes representatives from the electronic security industry, law enforcement and the insurance industry, and focuses on combatting false dispatches, property crime and increasing arrest rates using video alarms.
“We recognize that video verification is an important product category as we look to the future of security,” says Scott Harkins, president of Honeywell Security Products Americas. “The PPVAR has done a good job promoting the benefits of monitored video alarms and has built partnerships that create value for our dealers. Honeywell strongly believes in this initiative and we are committed to being a leader in the category.”
The addition of Honeywell Security is the latest collaboration for PPVAR, which formed an alliance with Sonitrol National Dealers Association (SDNA) in May to focus on audio verification. Earlier this year, the organization partnered with Verisk Crime Analytics, which owns and operates national crime databases that provide services to the construction, retail, transportation, manufacturing and insurance industries, to combat property crimes.
