Honeywell to Put Its Name on All Its Security Products

In the coming months, new control panels, cameras and other
security products will no longer be graced with names like
ADEMCO, Silent Witness and FutureSmart. As part of its
continuing branding strategy, Honeywell says all of its
security products will now be branded as Honeywell.

However, ADEMCO and other Honeywell names will not
necessarily be left to the history books. Many of these
names will continue to be associated with specific
products, but the overall branding will always be as
Honeywell.

“Honeywell is one of the most recognized and respected
brands in the world,” Honeywell Security President Ben
Cornett says. “Soon, our keypads and all of our other
security products will be emblazoned with the distinctive
Honeywell logo, enabling our customers to leverage the
positive global brand identity of Honeywell.”

Honeywell says the strategy will be implemented by nearly
all of its security manufacturing businesses, including
those in security and custom electronics, video systems,
access systems and international security products. The
process of changing the logos on products and faceplates is
already progressing and should be completed in the coming
months.

“Honeywell has a great brand name and we’re embarking on a
corporatewide initiative to leverage the strength of that
brand,” says David Gottlieb, vice president of marketing
communications for Honeywell Security. “It’s already
started, but it’s going to take some time.”
