Honeywell VP Honored With SIA Statesman Award

WASHINGTON

The Security Industry Association (SIA) honored Honeywell Int’l. Vice President and General Counsel Jeannine Lane with its Statesman Award for her leadership on the association’s Government Relations Committee.

The Statesman Award, which was presented at Tuesday’s Public Policy Dinner, is the highest award presented to a SIA volunteer who makes significant contributions toward the attainment of the association’s government relations goals.

Lane was essential in driving policy and coordinating industry support to correct the Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA) of 2007, helping to draft legislative language which was recently introduced in the House of Representatives. In addition, she was a key participant in developing SIA’s position opposing New York State legislation that would have eroded liability protections provided to alarm manufacturers. Lane was also instrumental in developing SIA’s position against the Department of Transportation proposal to further regulate the transport of lithium batteries.

“We are grateful to Ms. Lane for her leadership,” says SIA CEO Richard Chace. “She made significant contributions to SIA’s Government Relations efforts this year and has helped shape policies that support the security industry.”

The Public Policy Dinner was held in conjunction with SIA’s Government Summit, held June 7-9.
