Alarm monitoring company HSM (Honeywell Security Monitoring) has added to its West Coast portfolio with the purchase of Santa Maria, Calif.’s Sylvester’s Security Alarms Inc.’s residential and commercial alarm accounts. As part of the sale, for which terms have not been released, HSM will retain a local office in Santa Maria and several of Sylvester’s employees.
Sylvester’s Security Alarms President Don Sylvester says he’s been working for a year with Independent Security Consultants Inc. senior consultant Paul Udell on a sale of his company, which has been in business since 1960 and serves California’s central coast. After “numerous” offers, they selected HSM.
“I believe that [HSM CEO] Jim Covert can take my company to the next level,” Sylvester says.
