Identix Reports 1st Quarter Results

MINNETONKA, Minn.

Biometric security manufacturer Identix Inc. reported that its fiscal 2006 first quarter revenues were a record $22.7 million, up 37 percent when compared to last year’s $16.6 million total for the same period ending Sept. 30.

“In our first quarter, we began to experience some of the growth we have been targeting in software revenues, including winning some important ABIS contracts and other facial and finger recognition technology awards. As seen in today’s announced results, these software-based revenues can have an immediate impact, translating into higher margins and better bottom line performance,” said Identix President and CEO Dr. Joseph J. Atick in a statement. Atick also credited his companies’ quarter to important contracts in every market they operate in, with those contracts worth a total potential value of more than $13 million.

In addition, the company also announced that fiscal 2006 second quarter revenues are expected to increase 13 to 24 percent to between $21 and $23 million, bringing expected first half 2006 total revenues of $43.7 to $45.7 million.
