Identix Reports $3.8 Million Loss

MINNETONKA, Minn.

Biometrics manufacturer Identix had a net loss of $3.8 million in its third quarter, up 50 percent from its net loss from its 2005 third quarter. The maker of biometric access control products says it had revenues of $20.8 million over the past three months, up slightly from the $20.3 million in revenue for the same quarter a year ago.

However, Identix says the net loss includes $1.1 million from the impending merger with fellow biometrics maker Viisage.

The merger is expected to close by the end of June, according to the two companies.
