Upon the finalization of the pending merger between Identix and Visionics, both companies say the combined entity intends to close its facilities in Los Gatos, Calif., and Dublin, Ga. It will also reduce its combined workforce by 20 percent (approximately 120 employees).
Manufacturing, engineering, finance and marketing divisions from both companies are also slated to be consolidated from existing facilities in Minnetonka, Minn., Jersey City, N.J., and Fairfax, Va.
The new entity will be known as Identix. Both companies say they are on target to finalize the merger by the end of this month.
