SEOUL— IDIS has added to its line of surveillance products through its new Edge AI Plus Camera range, which the company says, gives users more flexible, affordable options to upgrade their video systems with advanced AI functionality, including new automated detection functions.
The range includes a host of tools to improve real-time surveillance operations and footage search-and-playback. IDIS points out the Edge AI Plus line of products includes outdoor-ready and vandal-proof 8MP domes such as the DC-D6831WRA, as well as bullet models like the DC-T6831WRA, and an upcoming PTZ model that is scheduled for launch during the summer of 2025.

Edge AI Plus Cameras Employ IDIS Deep Learning Engine to Power Accurate Analytics
The Edge AI Camera Plus range features IDIS’s upgraded analytics engine, IDLA Pro, which the company asserts, drives even greater operational efficiency for busy security teams. With on-the-edge analytics capabilities and five new essential functions, including crowd detection, abandoned and removed object detection, fall detection, and violence detection, the new range is designed to support more proactive security responses in a wide range of settings.
IDIS suggests the cameras are designed to provide high levels of HD surveillance and threat detection with quality image capture even in varied and challenging lighting conditions, including bright sunlight and night, through IR, WDR, and a larger sensor (1/1.8 inch). The Edge AI Camera Plus range also features IDIS’s new A-Cut function, which the company states, makes attribute search fast and easy, with automatic image cropping, intuitive metadata search options, and a convenient user interface. The products’ advanced attribute recognition options include the gender and age of subjects, and whether someone is wearing glasses, hats, or masks, or carrying accessories such as bags. The AI technologies also distinguish between vehicle types (sedans, trucks, buses, motorcycles, etc.) and colors.
IDIS boasts that its Edge AI Plus Camera analytics is powered by the in-house-developed IDIS Deep Learning Engine, which it says helps to ensure reliable accuracy.
According to the company, the range offers all the advantages of its IDIS DirectIP technology that includes straightforward plug-and-play set-up and one-click configuration for centralized monitoring to enable rapid and cost-effective deployment with no hidden extra costs per channel.
In addition, the Edge AI Plus products offer the assurance of multi-layered cybersecurity protection using IDIS’s patented protocols encompassing mutual authentication of devices, MFA, video data capture, storage, and transmission.
