The Importance of Sticking With the Right Vendor

An SSI Hall of Fame member explains why you want to support vendors that are supporting you and your model.

As part of SSI‘s Hall of Fame Educational Webinar Series, industry veteran and SSI Hall of Famer Richard Ginsburg shared his keys for security companies to succeed in the new world of consumer technology.

Key number one is having the capital to succeed. The second key is don’t undersell yourself. The third is proper planning and fourth is retention.

Ginsburg’s fifth key is support vendors and partners who are ‘swimming’ in your direction.

Staying with as few products as possible will make tech support and installation easier. Do your research and pick a manufacturing partner that has multiple next-gen technology options and not necessarily the “product of the week.”

You also want to make sure you don’t walk into a big box store and see a product by your manufacturer on the shelves that’s competing with you.
