Increased Security for Bush Inaugural Includes Electronic Sensors, Surveillance

WASHINGTON

According to the Baltimore Sun, law enforcement agencies are putting together the largest and most comprehensive security net attempted for the inauguration of President Bush.

Security at the inauguration will feature electronic sensors that can detect chemical and biological agents in the streets. In addition, surveillance will be provided by the U.S. military, along with attack aircraft and thousands of ground troops, if necessary.

“What we’re telling people is the closer they get to the where the president will be, the tighter the security is going to be – tighter than they’ve ever seen before,” says Sgt. Contricia Sellers-Ford, spokeswoman for the U.S. Capitol Police.
