Indala Provides Microsoft With 22,000 Smart Cards

Access control manufacturer Indala recently announced it would provide Microsoft Corp. with 22,000 multiple-technology smart cards. This is the second of a four-phase plan to replace older 32K chip cards used by Microsoft employees and their contractors worldwide. Indala also manufactured the previous smart cards.

Microsoft employees use smart cards manufactured by Indala to gain access to the firm’s computer network. Smart cards are also used to digitally sign E-mail and to gain physical access to Microsoft facilities worldwide.
