INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Department of Homeland Security has teamed up with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) and other federal partners to keep players, coaches and thousands of fans safe during the Final Four basketball tournament.
The last time the city of Indianapolis hosted the Final Four tournament was in 2010. Since that time, there have been updates to security equipment, as well as the landscape of the city, prompting officials to upgrade security, The Indy Channel reports.

The Circle Centre Mall is at the center of the festivities. Recently, police have responded to calls of disorderly conduct and armed robbery. Officers also responded to a report of teens spraying a father and his three-year-old child with pepper spray.
IMPD declined to share what officials are doing to keep fans safe during the basketball tournament, but noted that a plan is in place, and they are confident that it will work.
The Final Four games are scheduled for April 4 through April 6.
