The Security Industry Association (SIA) announces that the security industry’s Safety, Awareness and Independence Now Through Security (SAINTS) program has been awarded the Organization of Excellence “Superstar” Award from the Greater Washington Society of Association Executives (GWSAE). The award was presented to SIA Executive Director Ron Spiller at GWSAE’s Annual Meeting and Luncheon. The SAINTS program was selected because of the good will shown to the various communities affected by tragic church fires. The SAINTS initiative is an industry partnership with the Congress of National Black Churches (CNBC) that has donated burglar and fire alarm systems, along with monitoring, to churches being rebuilt after arson fires burned them to the ground. “Awards and recognition are great. I hope the members of the organizations represented in the SAINTS partnership are proud of their associations and their staff members,” says Spiller. “But we should remember that we did this to help those in need, not for recognition. Let’s keep moving forward with the SAINTS program and with other community efforts.”

In addition to SIA, SAINTS coalition organizations include the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA), Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA), International Association of Professional Security Consultants (IAPSC) and National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA).
