Infinova to Purchase DIY Specialist Swann Communications
Australia-based Swann is said to have pioneered the do-it-yourself video surveillance markets in North America, Australia and Europe.

MONMOUTH JUNCTION, N.J. ― Video surveillance solutions supplier Infinova has signed an agreement to acquire Australian company Swann Communications Pty Ltd.
Established in 1987, Swann is a supplier of do-it-yourself (DIY) security and video surveillance products for homes and small businesses. The company provides bundled video surveillance systems and equipment that include video cameras, infrared cameras, DVRs/NVRs, video monitors and related installation components.
Infinova sells products directly to system integrators while Swann mainly sells through approximately 15,000 big-box retail stores as well as from direct and partner E-commerce Web sites.
According to a press release, it is envisioned that Swann will continue to drive product requirements, develop high level product design and then leverage Infinova’s expertise in final product development and manufacturing.
The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to be closed within this year.
