Ingersoll Rand Earnings Go Up 19%

HAMILTON, Bermuda

Ingersoll Rand (IR) reports that its first quarter earnings were up 19 percent to $253.2 million, including a 7-percent increase in revenue for its Security Technologies business unit. IR had overall revenue of $2.7 billion for the first three months of 2006.

The earnings and revenue marked a record first quarter for IR.

“All of our business segments achieved revenue and earnings growth,” says IR President, Chairman and CEO Herbert Henkel.

The security division that includes such brands as Recognition Systems and Locknetics posted total first-quarter revenue of $524.8 million.
