Ingersoll Rand (IR) has formed a new business unit that will comprise its brands in the residential space including Schlage, Trane and American Standard Heating and Cooling.
According to IR Chairman and CEO Herbert Henkel, the IR product brands that make up the Residential Solutions business will create platforms for home environments that address the critical areas of safety, comfort and efficiency.
“The Residential Solutions business will drive greater focus on serving homeowners, homebuilders, independent contractors and retailers by combining our residential air conditioning, HVAC business and our residential security business,” Henkel says.
Effective July 1, the business will be based in Carmel, Ind., and led by Steve Hochhauser, who will become president. Hochhauser most recently served as president of IR’s Security Technologies sector.
